I Have A Dream :)

Today, as we honor Martin Luther King, Jr, let us not forget his heartfelt words.  I can’t help but think that if he were looking down on our country today that instead of saying “Yes, you all got it right”, he’s saying “You’re breaking my heart.”  He must be feeling that what he fought and died for didn’t mean a thing because here we are…fighting, rioting, and are violently divided as a nation.

“Violence never brings permanent peace.  It solves no social problem: it merely creates new and more complicated one.  Violence is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all.  It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding.  : it seeks to annihilate rather than convert.  Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love.  It destroys community and makes brotherhood impossible.  It leave society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends up defeating itself.  It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.”

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a man who loved his country and the people that made up this great nation.  To quote MLK,JR,  “You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.”  I think it’s well past time for all of us to take that first step in putting differences aside and trying to come back together as a people and a country.  God Bless The United States of America and God Bless “all” it’s citizens!!!!

Namaste and God Bless,

Kelly 🙂
