Why is it so hard to WAIT???????

This is the day the Lord hath made 🙂 Rejoice and be glad in it!

Good Sunday morning everyone!!!

As I was studying God’s word this morning and making out my prayer list I was overwhelmed with an anxious feeling that my prayers are being answered at a snail’s pace and why are things not moving along faster.  Those of you who know me personally know that over the past few weeks I have been fasting from social media and pressing harder into the word seeking to get closer to God and understand more of what he wants me to do with my life.  It has been such a blessing to slow things down for myself and meditate on scriptures in the search of clarity for things I don’t yet know but am hoping to learn.  Those of you who know me also know that I am an IMPATIENT person and that is something I am working very hard on.

My new favorite verse James 1:12 says “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those that love him.”  What beautiful words and how they hit so close to home.  I’ve started the study of the Book of James and from the moment I saw this verse I have been forever in AWE of it.  God wants us to wait on him.   He wants us to PATIENTLY wait.   If you look up “patience” in the dictionary it is defined as “able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious.”   Whoa that is NOT how I sometimes show my patience.   Also, I know that patience is your ATTITUDE while you are waiting.

Proverbs 3:5-6 declares “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

It’s not about our time table, it’s about his.  God knows best in every situation what, where, when, why, and how to make something come to pass.  As humans we are so used to immediate gratification that we want what we want when we want it and not a moment later.  God’s timing is perfect and if we can step back and even maybe look back at other miracles or healings that we’ve already witnessed having been manifested, we will see that his plan was right on cue and changes took place when they needed to.

All of us have struggles that we are going through, even right now.  Our jobs are not to hurry them along or nag God about them.  Our jobs are to press into his word, seek his will first and foremost, and then let him do his thing.  And he will…do his thing.  It will be HIS thing and hopefully it will be what we hoped to be OUR thing too.  When our prayers and his will for our lives line up its so amazing what we can just sit back and watch him do.   He is an amazing God and he loves us unconditionally.  We don’t have to try and impress him or try to be something we’re not to make him love us.  He loves us because he loves us…that’s it!   John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  That’s it…just believe!  Pretty easy really!

Today as you go out into your day remember this…also another favorite of mine… This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” Psalm 118:24.  Go out there and rejoice and be glad in it and remind others to do the same.  We’ve got 24 hours in each day and if you start to pay attention to how you’re spending yours, you might be surprised at how much time gets wasted or is being spent in a negative way.   Pay attention starting right now and make every moment count!!!

Namaste and God Bless,

Kelly 🙂
